Coimbatore: The SSVM Transforming India Conclave 22, an initiative of SSVM Institutions to commemorate 25 years of excellence, started on a high note on Thursday in the presence of former Isro scientist and Padma Bhushan awardee Nambi Narayanan.
Students from several schools participated in the event, some virtually, as Nambi extolled the virtues of honesty in life. He touched upon his life experiences by highlighting the importance of honesty and truth and how eventually truth prevails.
SSVM’s founder and managing trustee Manimekalai Mohan spoke about the importance of humility and how it helps people reach new heights of success.
Swathy Rohit, co-founder and CEO of Health Basix, highlighted the importance of pursuing one’s passion and the need to take care of health by increasing physical activity and prioritizing nutritious food. She stressed on the need to transform India from the diabetic capital of the world to the health capital of the world.
Earlier, educationist E Balaguruswamy said transforming India could happen only when people have the courage and conviction to question the wrongs in society. He appealed teachers to inculcate courage in students. tnn
