₹ 85 lakh unaccounted cash seized

Haveri: Hangal police chased a car and seized Rs 85 lakh on Tuesday evening. They detained four persons allegedly involved in transferring unaccounted cash.
Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the car near Malligar village. The accused are Fayazkhan Muneerkhan, Imrankhan Muneerkhan, both from Nijjur village in Siddapur taluk of Uttara Kannada, Saddamkhan Gafarkhan and Sayyad Amin, both from Sagar in Shivamogga. According to police, they were travelling from Sagar to Hubballi with the unaccounted cash.
CPI SR Ganachari, PSI Srishail Pattanashetti and other staff were part of the team. “We suspected it is havala money. We have asked them to show documents,” SP Hanumantharaya said.
