PRAYAGRAJ: Three days after a video of eight persons enjoying "hookah and non-veg" on two separate boats near Bakshi Bandh in river
Ganga went viral on social media, cops have lodged an FIR against two named and six unidentified persons under sections 153A and 295 of IPC on the charges of hurting religious sentiments of a community and defiling a place of worship.
The 30-second video clicked with the help of a mobile phone showed a man in a white shirt puffing hookah and chicken being grilled on a small iron furnace on one of the two boats.
Sub-inspector Diwakar Singh posted at Daraganj police station said the FIR was lodged against Anjaf and Hassan, both residents of Bakshi Khurd, and six others late Wednesday night.
Taking note of the incident, SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey had ordered a probe and directed cops to ascertain the identities of accused and act accordingly.
Following which the Daraganj police had contacted locals of Bakshi Khurd and adjoining areas to ascertain the identities of the people.
