Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.12% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Federal Bank(up 2.74 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.11 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.86 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.33 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 0.26 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 0.94 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.9 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.43 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.13 per cent) and HDFC Bank(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.12 per cent at 39350.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16.8 points at 17526.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 34.46 points at 58732.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of , JP Power, Zomato Ltd., and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Omax Autos, Celebrity Fash, Reliance Power, Action Const. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
