Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:19AM

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 19.87%), Dodla Dairy(up 3.36%), Future Consumer(up 3.03%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.13%), Hindustan Foods(up 1.57%), Parag Milk(up 1.24%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.80%), Gillette India(up 0.62%), Umang Dairies(up 0.24%) and Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 1.09%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.81%), Nestle India(down 0.79%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.67%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.64%), Zydus Wellness(down 0.49%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.47%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.40%), Nakoda Group(down 0.38%) and Varun Beverages(down 0.38%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 44.05 points down at 17498.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 146.45 points at 58620.14 at around 10:19AM.

Enterprises(up 1.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.47%), NTPC(up 1.31%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.1%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.03%), Eicher Motors(up 0.93%), ITC(up 0.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.56%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.4%) and Asian Paints(up 0.36%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Shree Cement(down 2.47%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.66%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.13%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.12%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.11%), Tata Steel(down 1.08%), JSW Steel(down 1.06%), HDFC(down 0.83%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.83%) and Infosys(down 0.81%) were trading in the red.
