Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.6% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Escorts Kubota(up 2.21 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.89 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 1.64 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.6 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 1.54 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.99 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.77 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.55 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.55 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.6 per cent at 13345.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 9.7 points at 17533.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 34.31 points at 58732.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of , JP Power, Zomato Ltd., and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Celebrity Fash, , Reliance Power and Agni Green Power Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
