Jaipur: Supporters of former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot are preparing for a show of strength on his 45th birthday falling on September 7. Since the Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is beginning on the same day, Pilot’s birthday celebrationes will be held on September 6, sources said.
Sources said since Pilot is one of the core committee members of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which will be led by party leader Rahul Gandhi, he will leave for Kanyakumari on September 6 evening, soon after his birthday celebrations at his Civil Lines residence. But other programmes like blood donation camps and forestation programmes will be held at the district level on his birthday the next day.
Leaders privy to the programme said since now Covid restrictions are over, the party workers wanted to celebrate their leader's birthday in a befitting manner. So a large number of party workers from all over the state are expected to converge at this residence here on September 6.
His supporters claim that Pilot will be given a suitable responsibility once the party presidential election is over in October. He was not holding any responsibility either in the party or government for the last two years after he was removed from the post of deputy chief minister and PCC president following his rebellion in 2020.
But as per the agreement with the party's high command, his followers hope that he would get his due soon.
