THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The tension between the
BJP and the CPM which broke out during the development procession carried out by the CPM councillors spilled over in the council meeting held here on Thursday. Councillor Rakhi Ravikumar alleged that ABVP workers forcibly tried to disrupt the peaceful procession carried out at Vanchiyoor. She said that Vanchiyoor ward councillor Gayathri Babu was confronted by a group of ABVP workers and forced her to accept a petition regarding an issue in the ward.
The council also ratified the decision to suspend
Anwar Hussain, superintendent of Nemom zonal office, for allegedly talking to works standing committee chairman D R Anil in offensive tones.
