Jaipur: Rajasthan high court has modified the single bench order which had stayed Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (
RCA) decision to disaffiliate the three district cricket associations (DCAs).
RCA had filed an appeal against the single bench order of August 25 which was heard on Thursday by the division bench of the high court of acting chief justice M M Shrivastava and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani. The court modified the single bench order and RCA was granted relief.
A single judge bench of the high court on August 25 stayed the decision of the RCA to disaffiliate three DCAs namely Nagaur, Sri Ganganagar and Alwar.
RCA in its extraordinary general body meeting (EOGM) meeting held on July 4 had taken a decision to disaffiliate the three DCAs on the ground that it did not provide a satisfactory explanation with regard to their non-association with former IPL commissioner Lalit Kumar Modi, his son Ruchir and his attorney Mehmood Abdi.
The single bench had stayed the disaffiliation decision of three DCAs on the ground that they had complied with the directions of the ombudsman and continuing their disaffiliation is unfair.
The court after hearing the arguments of senior counsel Rajendra Prasad and Prateek Kasliwal ordered that since the instant matter is sub judice before the ombudsman, the final decision of affiliation or disaffiliation of the three disputed DCAs depends on the final decision of the ombudsman.
