Traffic curbs for PM’s visit

Mangaluru: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the coastal city, Mangaluru city police have imposed restrictions on movement of traffic on Friday. Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said parking of vehicles will be prohibited on roadside of Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) -Kulur stretch and New Mangalore Port via Kenjaru, Maravooru, Marakada, Kavoor, Bondel, Padavinangady, Yeyyadi, KPT Junction and Kottara Chowki between 6 am to 6 pm on Friday.
Movement of heavy vehicles, goods vehicles and tourist vehicles will be also prohibited.
Only vehicles of VVIPs, VIPs, government scheme beneficiaries and public coming to attend the PM’s programme will be allowed on these routes . No parking will be allowed within 500 meter radius of Goldfinch City ground where PM Modi will address the gathering,” the commissioner said.
Parking arrangements
Parking facility for buses, cars and two-wheelers will be arranged at New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) ground and Tannirbavi road. Other parking locations for buses, cars and two-wheelers include Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) road, Somayaji Maidan, Kulur, Delta Ground, AJ Shetty Engineering College, Maladi Court, Urwa Store ground, Pompei Church at Ladyhill, Urwa Market ground, Karavali Utsav ground, stretch from Kuntikana junction to Kavoor junction, Vyasa Nagara ground, KPT ground and Padua college ground.
