MYSURU: A girl student from rural Mysuru was found dead at a star hotel in the heart of the city. Police are not divulging details about the incident. According to an officer, they were summoned by the hotel staff after they found a woman customer lying unconscious in a room on the second floor of the hotel.
No external injury was found on the body of the girl, who is in her early 20s. As of now the cause of death is not known. The investigation is underway. Crime experts are examining the spot.
Sources claimed that the girl was found dead on Thursday evening. She had accompanied a man to the hotel on August 29. The man told the hotel staff that he would vacate the room late in the evening and left the hotel early on Thursday.
"As there was no response from inside the room, the hotel staff opened the room only to learn about the tragedy. Later they summoned Devaraja police. Her companion's phone is now unreachable," sources said.
An officer said the woman hails from Periyapatna taluk. Her parents have been contacted and they're likely to visit the spot. The officer said it is too early to disclose anything about the incident until there is a medical report about the cause of death. DCP Pradeep Gunti visited the hotel and inspected the crime scene.
