Iqbal Kaskar, brother of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, is set to undergo open heart surgery soon. He was admitted on Friday morning to Mumbai’s JJ Hospital for the surgery.
Iqbal has been behind bars since 2017 after he was booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.
Earlier, Iqbal told the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) about his brother’s whereabouts and confessed that Dawood and his associates Chota Shakeel and Anees Ibrami live in Pakistan.
WHO IS DAWOOD IBRAHIM?
Dawood Ibrahim is a wanted terrorist from Mumbai whom the United Nations has designated as a global terrorist. Several cases have been lodged against him by different national agencies, including a money laundering case and an arms smuggling case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh for Ibrahim and various other reward amounts for his associates.
The probe is related to the ‘D’ Company — Ibrahim’s gang — for establishing a unit in India to smuggle arms, explosives, drugs, and fake Indian currency notes (FICN) and carry out terror attacks in close association with Pakistani agencies and terror outfits.
