Ludhiana: A group of city industrialists on Wednesday evening held a virtual meeting with Cabinet minister Aman Arora at Jainpur. The businessmen raised several burning issues being faced by Ludhiana’s industry and urged Arora to get all these problems resolved.

He also said till now even after spending huge amount of money under this project , no changes had been observed in the polluted water body.
Garment industrialist Darshan Dawar expressed resentment over scrapping of the textile park project and said , “Textile and garment industry is very disappointed over the scrapping of the textile park project and we are of the view that the state government should earmark and finalise the new piece of land where this project should be setup now. Also there is no way that we will accept shifting of this project from Ludhiana because if it is setup in any other district it will serve no purpose to the textile and garment industry whose base is only in Ludhiana.”
Gurmeet Singh Kular, president of Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisations raised the issue of Masterplan-2023 under which the micro and small industrial units located in the mix land use areas will have to shift from these to industrial areas. Kular urged the minister to ask state government to put on hold the implementation of the masterplan until the time factories located in the mix land use areas is given an economical alternative for shifting.
