Seller Storage Service Introduced By Amazon

On Wednesday, Amazon.com Inc introduced a new service in order to help its sellers store bulk inventory.

On Wednesday, Amazon.com Inc introduced a new service in order to help its sellers store bulk inventory. The move also comes in to ease the distribution which would tackle supply chain issues.


In a blog post, the firm said that the sellers would be able to use the new service by 2023. This service is known as Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD.


The sellers would be able to send their inventory to any location which includes wholesale customers or brick-and-mortar stores.


This service is a pay-as-you-go service that would assist the sellers to cut logistics costs. However, the firm is yet to release the specifications of the service.


In the blog post, Gopal Pillai, vice president of Amazon Distribution and Fulfillment Solutions said, "Amazon Warehousing & Distribution addresses critical supply chain challenges and helps sellers grow and manage their business while significantly cutting costs.”


This development comes in the wake of Amazon announcing that it had started to slow down  warehouse openings to rein in costs.
