Shares of Reliance Industries closed 3 per cent lower at Rs 2,560.20. The centre has increased the windfall tax on domestic crude oil to Rs 13,300 per tonne from earlier Rs 13,000 per tonne.

The stock of commercial vehicles maker ended 5.7 per cent higher at Rs 162.80 today. Ashok Leyland today reported that its total domestic and export sales for August went up 51 per cent YoY at 14,121 units. The total domestic sales, including trucks, buses and LCVs in the month, stood at 13,301 units, up 58 per cent YoY.

Zomato ended nearly 8 per cent higher at Rs 62.5 after the company launched 'Intercity Legends', its intercity delivery service for popular dishes.

SpiceJet ended over 3 per cent lower at Rs 44.95. The airline's loss widened to Rs 788 crore in the June quarter from Rs 457 crore in the March quarter. The scrip also declined as Chief Financial Officer Sanjeev Taneja tendered his resignation following the weak earnings.

Shares of Best Agrolife ended 17 per cent higher at Rs 1,294.15 after ace investor Ashish Kacholia picked up 13.8 lakh shares of the smallcap pesticides and agrochemicals maker.

Biocon ended 2.6 per cent lower at Rs 301.65 as the USFDA has issued Form 483s with 11 observations each for two sites in Bengaluru and six observations for a plant in Malaysia.

NDTV shares were locked in the 5 per cent upper circuit at Rs 490.60. Adani Group will launch its open offer on October 17 for acquiring an additional 26 per cent stake in the media firm.

MMTC stock lost 6 per cent of its value and ended at Rs 41.90. The state-run trading and distribution player reported a widening of consolidated net loss to Rs 121.5 crore in the June 2022 quarter, which was Rs 96.18 crore in the same quarter the previous year.
