Bhubaneswar: BJP national president J P Nadda is likely to visit Odisha in the last week of September. The two-day visit will mostly focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level, keeping the 2024 general election in mind.
A training camp of the party will be oganised during that time. Many party members are expected to attend the event. National general secretary (organisation) and Odisha BJP prabhari Sunil Bansal will attend the training camp starting in the third week.
BJP state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said that the party will be focussing on Odisha. “This Focus Odisha programme will be started soon keeping the political situation in mind. The state unit of the party is geared up for this,” Harichandan said.
He said three national leaders will visit Odisha this month. “We have not finalized the date of Nadda’s visit. It will be an important event for the party’s state unit,” Harichandan added.
Union home minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah had visited the state on August 7 and attended several meetings before leaving for Delhi the next day. In a meeting, he had told the gathering that Odisha is always in the Centre’s focus.
Harichandan said the party has been improving its base in Odisha since 2017. “A strategy will be chalked out to ensure more success for the party. The national leaders will encourage the party workers through training camps. They will take our party’s message to each booth and prepare them for the 2024 elections,” he said.
