A temporary defeat is not a permanent failure. And, this seems to be true for Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan. The 57-year-old actor, who has an enviable track record of mega-blockbusters, faced a setback after his ambitious ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ failed to take off at the box-office.

Just as in life, for Bollywood superstars failures are temporal. Ever since the colossal debacle of ‘LSC’ several reports surfaced how the ‘Lagaan’ actor was heartbroken and was planning a two-month long retreat in the US. Now, it seems ‘LSC’ is passé as the social media bashing and critical scrutiny of the film has abated.

Aamir Khan is yet again in the news. And, this time it is for an entirely different reason. Dubbed the actor’s first public appearance following ‘LSC’, Khan was recently snapped by a fan in San Francisco. Natasha Mascarenhas, a reporter with the tech portal, TechCrunch, took to her Twitter account to share her excitement after she met Aamir Khan.

“yesterday in unexpected unbelievable i’m still unwell twists,” she wrote in a Tweet with a picture of herself and superstar Aamir Khan. The image opened a floodgate of comments from fans and well-wishers.
In one of her responses, Natasha said that her mother was moved to tears of joy when she sent her a picture of herself with the star. When one of the users asked if Natasha introduced herself to Khan, the young reporter responded saying the actor was ‘too calm, cool and collected’. When Natasha asked Khan what he was up to, the actor responded saying, “just walking around.”

Apology Or Hacked?

Meanwhile, an apology video surfaced on the social media pages of Aamir Khan Productions on Thursday. The post featured an audio clip saying, “Hum sab insaan hai, aur galityan insaan se hoti hai. Kabhi bol se, kabhi harkaton mein, kabhi mazak mein….Agar maine kissi tarah se aapka dil dukhaya hai, toh…man vachan, kaaya se sama mangte ho.”

The words roughly translated would mean that all of us are humans and that humans make mistakes. Sometimes by word or by action and often without knowing. We also hurt others through our jokes. If I have hurt anyone in the past then I ask for your forgiveness from my heart.

The video which was posted some 12 hours ago is now absent from the official handles. This has led fans to believe that the official social media handles of Aamir Khan Productions may have been temporarily hacked.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, released on August 11, is an official remake of the Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’. The film made on a whopping Rs 180 crore budget has so far managed to collect Rs 127 crore. It failed to impress the domestic box-office, however, the film has been doing well in the international circuits with decent business in US, UK, and Australia.
