With an aim to draw more than six million foreign tourists every year by 2030, in Tehran, Iran, Qatar Tourism has opened its first representative office earlier this month. This added to QT’s huge and constantly growing network of offices worldwide. It would be marked as the 13th global opening for QT; the office will conduct different promotional activities, comprising tour operator partnerships, destination training for travel agents, media visits and campaigns, all of which will actually emphasize Qatar as a cosmopolitan and rich destination in terms of culture for travellers from Iran.
For different tourists from Iran, Qatar makes for an appealing and convenient destination, owing to weekly direct flights from the major cities of Iran like Mashhad, Tehran, Shiraz, and Isfahan to Doha in less than three hours along with Iranian citizens will get visa-free entry. Besides, both countries adhere to Islamic calendars and can see synced holiday seasons, letting the Iranian tourists to travel to Doha for a last-minute getaway or luxurious city break.
Berthold Trenkel, the Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism said that choice in the location of Qatar Tourism and its recent office opening is an evidence to the decades-long cultural and trade relation between the two countries. Iran is one of 15 target markets earmarked by Qatar Tourism. It’s the primary source for tourists who are looking to unwind, revitalize and soak in some culture.
