Coimbatore: Two booked for snatching gold mangalsutra from dentist

COIMBATORE: Unidentified persons snatched a gold mangalsutra weighing about five sovereigns from a woman dentist while she was on her way home from a temple at Masakalipalayam on Wednesday evening.
Singanallur police said, L Revathi, 48 from Lakshmipuram at Peelamedu was returning home when an unidentified person snatched her gold mangalsutra and managed to escape with another person who was ready on a motorcycle in the locality.
She lodged a complaint with Singanallur police who registered a case against the unidentified chain snatchers under section 392 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code. The police collected CCTV footage from the locality, but it was not clear. The police have formed a special team to nab the accused.
