Ramdevra fair witnesses over 25L devotees so far

Jaisalmer: Thousands of devotees have been visiting the Ramdevra temple in the district from different parts of the country and are quite impressed with the cleanliness and arrangements in the area. Till now more than 25 lakh devotees have reached here and on the directions of the district collector Tina Dabi, gram panchayat and district administration have made all the arrangements to keep the area clean. This time the entire cleanliness has not only been digitised but 300 employees and 600 volunteers are also cleaning the entire area round the clock.
Dabi said, “After the stampede incident at Khatu Shyam ji temple, we took many precautionary and necessary steps to avoid any such mishaps. We have opened the temple for the first time for 24 hours this year to minimize the delay. Every arrangement at the fair is being monitored closely.”
Talking about the arrangements, she said that inside the temple premises, a zigzag arrangement has been strengthened in which 7500-8000 people can stand in queue. Six exit gates have been installed to come out of the temple.
Mela magistrate Rajesh Bishnoi said that the entire mela premises has been divided into three zones and around 300 employees are keeping it clean working in three shifts. 90 sanitation personnel have been appointed in each zone and they are working 24 hours. He said that along with the sanitation staff, 400 volunteers are also helping in maintaining cleanliness.
A team with vehicles regularly inspect the premises and catch the street cattle and leave them at the nearest Gaushala in Bhadariya.
