Delhi MBBS student dies by suicide inside hostel room

NEW DELHI: A final year MBBS student died by hanging herself inside her hostel room at Safdarjung hospital in the national capital, police said on Thursday.
The door of her room was bolted from the inside and it was forcefully opened by the friends of the deceased.
Police said they had received a call about the incident at 3.30am.
The student was declared dead on arrival at the emergency ward of the hospital.
"A handwritten suicide note was found in the deceased's diary. Two empty packets of antidepressant medicine were also found inside the room. Further probe is under way," said Delhi Police.
Statements of other inmates and friends of the deceased were recorded and no foul play was found so far.
The family members of the deceased also reached the spot and their statements were being recorded.
