Jaipur: MGNREGA commissioner Shivangi Swarnkar on Wednesday gave directions to blacklist two Mates of Ugriyawas gram panchayat in Jaipur district. While one Mate, who was employed under water conservation work, was found to be absent from work, and another mate was removed for irregularities in marking the attendance of workers.
Swarnkar inspected ongoing projects under MGNREGA at Sanganer and Mauzamabad panchayat samitis on Wednesday. At Ugriyawas gram panchayat, instructions were given to blacklist Mate Anandilal, who was found to be absent from work, and Mate Ghasilal was blacklisted on finding irregularities in marking the attendance of workers.
MGNREGA commissioner inspected seven works related to water conservation at Mahla gram panchayat in Mauzamabad panchayat samiti. She directed the officials to take strict action against the village employment assistant concerned for not updating mandays in job cards, entry of payment details and not updating seven registers related to ‘good governance’ at gram panchayat levels. During the inspection, NREGA executive engineer of Jaipur zila parishad was directed to rectify deficiencies found in various works and send a report.
On Tuesday, principal secretary Aparna Arora, while reviewing schemes of the department, had said responsibilities will be fixed of officials if people living in rural areas fail to get benefits of the the schemes due to negligence or lack of monitoring.
“The districts lagging behind in rankings of physical and financial progress of various departmental schemes need to make efforts through regular monitoring of these works and field visits,” she said. Arora also expressed her displeasure over officials not inspecting NREGA works at regular intervals.
