Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.08%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Oberoi Realty(up 2.9 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.87 per cent), DLF(up 2.13 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 1.55 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Phoenix Mills(down 1.28 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(down 1.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.08 per cent up at 468.2.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 216.5 points at 17542.8, while the BSE Sensex stood down 770.48 points at 58766.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red.

Shares of , JP Power, Zomato Ltd., and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Power, , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Piramal Ent., , and Biocon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
