Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.61% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:05AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Gland Pharma(up 2.73 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 0.74 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.27 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 0.12 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Biocon(down 2.21 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.03 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.94 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.82 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.71 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.61 per cent at 12622.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 119.35 points at 17639.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 432.1 points at 59104.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of , Zomato Ltd., JP Power, and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and Biocon hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
