Jharkhand: 2-member fact-finding committee of NCW visits family of deceased Dumka girl

A 2-member fact-finding committee of National Commission for Women (NCW) visited the family of the girl who was allegedly set ablaze by a man in Dumka, Jharkhand on August 31.“As soon as we got the news, we took suo moto action and took up the matter with DGP. Our observations will be submitted in a report to NCW Chairperson who will convey further step in the matter. We cannot reveal anything now,” NCW Legal Counsellor Shalini Singh said. “People are circulating photos of victim on social media. Please ensure this is stopped, vital information is not misused and a woman's dignity is protected,” she added.
