GUWAHATI: The proscribed Ulfa (I) on Wednesday stated that one of its cadres, Rihan Asom alias Saiful Islam had been executed after the outfit’s court found him guilty of trying to escape during special operations in a bid to surrender as well as spying for the outfit’s enemies.
According to a statement from the outfit, Rihan made three abortive attempts to flee in the last one month from its camp in Myanmar.
Rihan, son of Kalim Uddin Mandal, hailed from Bauratal village under Lakhipur police station in Goalpara district.
Earlier on May 7, the banned outfit issued a statement saying two of its newly recruited cadres.
In a notice issued through social media, the outfit claimed that two youngsters, Dhanjit Das of Barpeta and Sanjib Sarma of Baihata Chairali, have been executed “for spying against the outfit at the behest of the state police.”
