Plot worth Rs 4.20cr of Mukhtar’s associate attached in Ghazipur

Varanasi: Continuing the drive against the economic empire of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, Ghazipur police attached a plot worth Rs 4.20 crore owned by Mukhtar’s close aide Jafar in Chakrasid Jafarpura area of Mohammadabad tehsil, on Monday.
SP Rohan P Botre said that under the on-going drive to detect the properties purchased with illegally earned money or fraud by Mukhtar, his family, gang members and close aides, the Mohammadabad police had got details of a land purchased in the name of Jafar by this gang. The investigation officer had submitted his report to the district magistrate Ghazipur on August 2.
Taking note of it, the DM Ghazipur ordered to attach the property under the Gangster Act on August 28, he said adding that, the same order was executed on Monday. The SP Ghazipur led joint team of the district administration and police reached Chakrasid Jafarpura area of Mohammadabad tehsil to complete the formalities of attachment.
The SP Ghazipur said that during investigation it had come to light that Mukhtar’s gang had purchased this Benami property in the name of Jafar with illegally earned money and using illegal means for change in name of the owner of the property in land revenue records.
