Goa: Positivity rate above 10% for over 2 weeks

PANAJI: Goa recorded two Covid-19 fatalities on Monday, taking the toll to 3,963. Two men — an 85-year-old and a 75-year-old — died while undergoing treatment at South Goa district hospital. Both had not been vaccinated.
The state recorded 72 fresh infections and 98 recoveries while the active caseload dropped to 873. The single-day positivity rate was at 12.8%, which has been above 10% for more than two weeks.
The state has reported a rise in infections on most days with 120 and more cases a day. Only the past two days have shown that the cases have fallen below 100.
The recovery rate was steady at 98.1%. There were no hospital admissions during the day.
Health services have appealed to the public to wear masks when visiting a clinic or a hospital, market or any other public place in view of the festive period.
