RMC fixes entry fees for Ramvan

Rajkot: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Monday announced the entry fees for the newly built Ramvan. The fees for children aged 3 to 12 years will be Rs 10 and Rs 20 for those above 12 years. The garden will be open from 9 am to 6 pm and will remain closed every Monday. According to RMC, around two lakh people have visited this garden since its inauguration on August 17. The garden houses over 70,000 trees and sculptures depicting Ramayana. It is closed for maintenance for two days and opened for visitors from August 31.
Farmer booked for casteist slurs
Rajkot: A farmer in Amreli was booked under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for allegedly hurling casteist slurs at a Dalit man. The accused, Rajni Sangani, allegedly picked up a fight with Sanjay Jadhav, when the latter sat beside him on a bench outside a tea stall in Mota Gokharwada village. When Jadhav sat beside Sangani, the former started hurling casteist slurs at him, saying that he was fasting. He then thrashed Jadhav with a pipe, police. Sangani said he would have to bathe and purify himself as Jadhav sat close to him.
