Lawyer pulled by hair, beaten by live-in partner

Rajkot: A 40-year-old woman lawyer was attacked by her live-in partner in Jamnagar late on Sunday night. The woman, Jagruti Jogadiya, lodged a complaint against Viral Lakhani with the B-division police station.
On Sunday, Lakhani reached Jogadiya’s house in Rameshwarnagar on getting to know that she was going out with some friends. He dragged her by the hair and then stabbed the bike’s key in her head. He also thrashed her with a bat, police said.

As neighbours gathered, Lakhani fled but threatened to kill Jogadiya and her daughter Manali.
Jogadiya was rushed to GG Hospital where she had to take several stitches on the head.
Police said Lakhani even reached the hospital and again threatened the mother-daughter duo.
“Lakhani and Jogadiya were in a live-in relationship for six years. Eight months ago, she started living separately with her daughter due to frequent quarrels with him. Lakhani started suspecting that Jogadiya was having an affair with someone else,” said B-division police station sources.
Jogadiya had divorced her husband eight years ago.
