Businessman murder accused held in Delhi after six months

GUWAHATI: The prime accused in the murder of a businessman, who was shot dead in the heart of Guwahati six months ago, was arrested in Delhi on Monday. The arrest was made by Assam Police in cooperation with Bihar Police and Delhi Police.
Accused W Yadav, a resident of Bihar, was absconding after city-based businessman Avdesh Kumar Yadav was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants, hired by the accused. The murder had taken place in front of Avdesh's residence in Guwahati's Chatribari area around 9 pm on February 21. He was rushed to the Marwari Maternity Hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
ACP Prithviraj Rajkhowa said, "The accused was absconding after the murder. We were trying to trace him and finally got his location in Delhi. With the help of the special cell (southern range) of Delhi Police and the special task force of Bihar Police, we were able to net him"
