Keri: Ganapati, as the God of wisdom and knowledge is worshipped in Goa through various mediums and as Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, Goa has got into a festive mood. To express their gratitude students as well as teachers of Shrimati High School, Velguem in Bicholim made a floral Rangoli arrangement of the Lord.
Under the guidance of the art teacher, Yogesh Vishnu Kauthankar the ‘artists’ used petals of flowers and green leaves on the platform of the school complex to create their ‘natural art’.
Kauthankar told TOI, “Our culture and tradition emphasizes worshipping Ganapati in eco-friendly ways as he is the representation and son of Mother Earth who is popular as Goddess Parvati. Hence we decided to create the image of Ganapati by using leaves and flowers that are in the vicinity.”
As per the changing cycle of seasons nature showcases different patterns of natural beauty and if we make use of our creative talents we can pay our respects to Ganapati through various mediums of arts and enjoy the blessings of the Lord, he said.
