Jaipur: Five armed robbers opened fire and took away a vehicle and some money from a trader near the temple of Shakhambari Mata at Sikar’s Ranoli police station area on Monday. The traders and the priests in protest did not open the temple and the market remained shut for almost six hours. After police intervention the area opened for public in the evening.
According to the police, the victim identified as Vivek in his FIR stated that one Mukesh Gurjar with his aides came to his shop at 2.30am on Monday and overpowered him. “He snatched the keys of my vehicle at gunpoint and also opened fire. Later, the robbers decamped with the vehicle. They were also trying to kidnap the victim and started dragging him towards the vehicle. However, they were not successful,” said a senior police officer of Ranoli police station. tnn
