Aries Spears landed in an ugly controversy for his recent comments on The Art of Dialogue podcast. The netizens called out Spears for body shaming Lizzo and slammed left, right and center. However, Lizzo chose to remain silent until Sunday.

Lizzo won the Video for Good award at the VMA 2022 on Sunday for her popular single 'About Damn Time'. The pop star took the opportunity to take a sugar-coated dig at Spears without even taking his name. Lizzo used a reference from the beef between Nicki Minhaj and Miley Cyrus, quoting Nicki’s legendary jab, “the bitches that got something to say about me in the press.”

Aries Spears made objectionable comments on Lizzo’s weight, stating that she looked like a plate of mashed potatoes. He also remarked that Lizzo reminded him of the shit emoji. While addressing the fans after winning the MVA, Lizzo said that she didn’t want to say anything. When the fans asked her why she didn’t hit back at Spears, Lizzo said she was winning, addressing Spears as a bitch.

While disrespectfully body shaming Lizzo, Spears also said that her supporters were hypocrites, who didn’t care about the health and well-being of the singer. However, Spears added that he liked her music a lot.
