Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:00AM

Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 3.17%), Adani Power(up 2.80%), Alstom T&D India(up 2.55%), Reliance Power(up 1.85%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 1.57%), Adani Transmissions(up 0.98%), Indowind Energy(up 0.73%), Jyoti Structures(up 0.62%), Suzlon Energy(up 0.61%) and Inox Wind Energy(up 0.18%) were among the top gainers.

NLC India(down 2.87%), CESC(down 2.56%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.91%), Hitachi Energy India(down 1.78%), Tata Power Company(down 1.72%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.71%), NHPC(down 1.55%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.50%), Karma Energy(down 1.41%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.31%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 252.6 points down at 17306.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 856.54 points at 57977.33 at around 11:00AM.

Hindustan Unilever(up 0.95%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.87%), Britannia Industries(up 0.86%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.57%), Nestle India(up 0.37%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.3%), Shree Cement(up 0.2%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.09%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 4.15%), Infosys(down 3.96%), HCL Technologies(down 3.34%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.19%), JSW Steel(down 3.19%), Wipro(down 3.0%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.79%), Tata Steel(down 2.7%), Tata Motors(down 2.69%) and Tata Consultancy(down 2.68%) were trading in the red.
