Two awards for Thane Smart City project

THANE: The Thane municipal corporation on Friday received recognition on the national platform at the ‘Smart Urbanization’ conference organized in Mumbai, officials informed.
While the Thane Smart City Limited of the Thane Municipal Corporation was awarded in the category of ‘Mobility Solution,’ Sandeep Malvi, CEO of Thane Smart City won the most popular CEO award among 100 Smart Cities CEOs across the country at the glittering event held under the aegis of Smart Cities’ Council India.
“Every year, a CEO is selected as the most popular one across the country from among 100 smart cities. This choice is done through online voting. I am honoured to be feted as the country’s most popular CEO for 2022,” said Malvi, who was given the award by Pratap Padode, Founder and Executive Director of Smart Cities Council India in the presence of Corey Gray, chairman of Australia-based LVX Global and senior government officers, representatives and project consultants of other smart cities.
It may be noted that several projects are underway in the city under the Thane Smart City with participation from the Central and State Government and the Thane corporation.
