Wardha: The local crime branch seized a car with liquor worth Rs5 lakh in a raid conducted on Friday ahead of Pola festival.
Acting on a tif-off, police laid a trap and seized a car (MH40 KR 8530) which was bringing branded liquor into the district near a hotel on Nagpur-Wardha Road. Liquor possession, sale and consumption are banned in the district.
Police arrested and filed case against three persons, identified as Abhishek Chintalwar, (24), Ganesh Hajare (32), both residents of Ganeshpeth in Nagpur, and Badal Dhawane (32), a resident of Indira Nagar, Wardha, under various sections of Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act with Sevagram police station.
