Asian shares rise as hopes for audit deal boost China tech
Asian shares rose on Friday, buoyed by news of possible progress for China and the United States to hammer out an audit deal, while traders anxiously awaited a speech from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on rate-hike path later in the day.
SGX Nifty signals a positive start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 85.5 points, or 0.49 per cent, higher at 17,673.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a positve start on Friday.

Adhbhut Infrastructure, Indian Sucrose, Oceanic Foods and Nilkanth Engineering are among companies that will announce their quarterly earnings today.
Tech View: Nifty50 shows signs of weakness; support seen at 17,480
Nifty50 on Thursday fell after two days of gains and formed a bearish candle on the daily chart. Analysts said the index may find support in the 17,480-500 range, failing which it can test the 17,390-350 level.
Oil prices edge up on signs of improving demand
Oil prices rose in early trade on Friday on signs of improving fuel demand, though gains were capped as the market awaited clues from the U.S. Federal Reserve chairman on the outlook for rate hikes in a speech later in the day.

Rupee falls 7 paise to close at 79.93 against US dollar
The rupee declined by 7 paise to close at 79.93 (provisional) after moving in a narrow range against the US dollar on Thursday. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened at 79.80 per dollar. It hovered in a range of 79.80 to 79.93 during the session.
Sensex, Nifty on Thursday
After opening with healthy gains, the 30-share pack Sensex slipped into the red, falling 710 points from the day’s high to end 311 points lower at 58,774.72. Its broader peer, Nifty50, fell 82.50 points to end the August futures and options (F&O) series at 17,522.45.
