Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Friday at 09:59AM

Hitachi Energy India(up 5.69%), Transmission(up 4.67%), Reliance Power(up 3.32%), NLC India(up 2.11%), Indowind Energy(up 1.83%), ADANIGREEN(up 1.68%), Inox wind(up 1.54%), CESC(up 1.52%), DPSC(up 1.35%) and Limited(up 1.30%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Power(down 3.94%), KPI Green Energy(down 2.24%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.18%), Alstom T&D India(down 0.64%), Orient Green Power Company(down 0.54%), Voltamp Transformers(down 0.43%) and Jyoti Structures(down 0.31%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 142.45 points up at 17664.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 465.57 points at 59240.29 at around 09:59AM.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.29%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.97%), JSW Steel(up 1.97%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.95%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.9%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.77%), Tata Steel(up 1.65%), Coal India(up 1.58%), Infosys(up 1.51%) and Tata Motors(up 1.5%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 2.5%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.84%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.7%), Reliance Industries(down 0.03%) and Asian Paints(down 0.01%) were trading in the red.
