Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:50AM

Hindustan Foods(up 3.04%), DFM Foods(up 2.97%), Future Consumer(up 2.94%), Heritage Foods(up 2.61%), Gillette India(up 2.30%), Nakoda Group(up 1.77%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.75%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.38%), Parag Milk(up 1.29%) and ADF Foods(up 0.88%) were among the top gainers.

Vadilal Industries(down 1.94%), Dabur India(down 1.62%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.57%), Emami(down 1.21%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.91%), Marico(down 0.85%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.69%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.65%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.52%) and Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.52%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 71.45 points up at 17593.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 215.99 points at 58990.71 at around 10:50AM.

Titan Company Ltd(up 2.55%), Tata Steel(up 2.54%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.23%), JSW Steel(up 2.14%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.12%), Coal India(up 1.85%), SBI Life(up 1.77%), Tata Motors(up 1.61%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.51%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.09%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 2.57%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.46%), Asian Paints(down 1.14%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.12%), Reliance Industries(down 0.53%), Shree Cement(down 0.49%), ICICI Bank(down 0.2%), HDFC(down 0.05%), Britannia Industries(down 0.04%) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.01%) were trading in the red.
