Nagpur: Palak Agrawal (21) secured 11th all India ranking (AIR) in the Company Secretaries (CS) Professional Programme Exam on Thursday.
She is probably the state topper to clear all the three groups in the exam conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Palak said they now wanted to start preparing for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam. She prepared for one of the toughest exam during the Covid period. Her father is a banker while mother is a homemaker.
“It was my first attempt. I had to work really hard. I used to study 10 to 12 hours in the last two to three months before exam. We can’t ignore any of the subjects as marking is pretty tough,” she said.
The ICSI was yet to upload the statement regarding number of candidates appearing for the coveted exam by Thursday evening.
There was buzz among the CS aspirants that only a few had managed to clear all the three modules of the exam across the country. Palak is among the few to crack the tough exam by clearing all the three as per her statement of marks.
The exam was held in June this year.
“I had opted for CS right after my HSC. I had also enrolled for BCom. I may go for a job but I am also considering IAS exam. I dedicate my success to my family,” she said.
Palak said she wanted to opt for something different rather than going for Chartered Accountancy which is more popular than CS. “CS has lot of scope and there a plenty of opportunities,” she said.
