Fire breaks out at a chemical factory in Chityal of Nalgonda district on Wednesday
HYDERABAD: Six workers suffered injuries in a fire mishap at a chemical factory in Chityal of Nalgonda district. A worker, who suffered critical injuries, has been shifted to a private hospital in the city. The injured workers have been shifted to hospital.
"Seven workers were evacuated from the mishap site. An employee is critical. It is too early to determine the cause of the mishap," Nalgonda superintendent of police (SP) Rema Rajeshwari told TOI. The fire mishap occurred at Hindys Lab, a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit near Veliminedu village of Chityal mandal.
"The critically injured person, learnt to be Laxmi Reddy, who was the plant manager, has already been shifted to Yashoda Hospital. We are shifting two more injured to the hospital, while three were treated for simple injuries and will be discharged," the SP added.
With smoke billowing from the chemical factory, fire department personnel were able to evacuate seven workers. The injured workers were reportedly shifted to a hospital at Narketpally.
At least four fire tenders were rushed to the place to douse the fire. The smoke permeated for over two kms.
