SC panel on Pegasus malware: No conclusive proof of Israeli spyware in phones examined

A recent report submitted by the Supreme Court-appointed panel headed by judge RV Raveendran, concluded that there is no proof of Pegasus malware in the mobile phones examined. According to the report, 5 of the 29 mobile phones examined were infected with some malware but didn't specify that they were Pegasus. The panel was established to investigate the allegations that personal phones of journalists, politicians, activists and others were targeted illegally using Pegasus spyware. The report has also suggested to set up a special investigation agency that would investigate into cyber crimes and protect the security and privacy of the citizens.
