Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:21AM

DPSC(up 19.76%), KPI Green Energy(up 8.77%), NLC India(up 2.67%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.30%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 2.26%), Inox wind(up 2.13%), Inox Wind Energy(up 1.94%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.94%), NHPC(up 1.91%) and Gujarat Industries Power(up 1.68%) were among the top gainers.

Suzlon Energy(down 2.86%), Energy Development Company(down 1.77%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 1.28%), RTNPOWER(down 1.23%), Indowind Energy(down 1.09%), Reliance Power(down 0.65%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 0.63%), JSW Energy(down 0.60%), Torrent Power(down 0.47%) and NTPC(down 0.09%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 65.55 points up at 17670.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 212.78 points at 59298.21 at around 11:21AM.

UPL Ltd(up 2.16%), SBI Life(up 1.83%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.36%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.35%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.2%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.19%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.12%), Coal India(up 1.07%), Shree Cement(up 1.05%) and HDFC(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.15%), Cipla(down 0.74%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.47%), HCL Technologies(down 0.41%), Enterprises(down 0.4%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.34%), Infosys(down 0.28%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.28%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.23%) and Bajaj Finance(down 0.14%) were trading in the red.
