BJP MLA Raja Singh's remarks: Hyderabad Police resort to lathicharge after protesters pelt stones

HYDERABAD: Following stone pelting on two different occasions in Shalibanda area of Hyderabad, police resorted to lathicharge late Wednesday night.
Policemen from Hyderabad Task Force and other specialised units were seen, thrashing protesters and picking them up when they were holed up inside a house.
A large number of protesters were taken into custody by policemen in riot gear. They were seen raising loud slogans against the now suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh over objectionable hate video.
While demanding police action against the MLA, protesters also raised slogans demanding the beheading of Raja Singh or capital punishment.
After protesters resorted to stone pelting, a policeman and a few others were injured.
From 9pm on Wednesday to 1am on Thursday, there was a deserted look on roads in Charminar division and surrounding areas.
After 1am, life was peaceful throughout the night.
