Music fraternity pays tribute to KK through a fund raising concert

The city where KK breathed his last remembered the iconic singer through a unique fundraising concert to provide less-privileged children free heart surgery assistance. This was an emotional birth anniversary remembering the versatile singer who passed away earlier this year hours after a concert in Kolkata.

KK might have left us but his songs are immortal. Since KK died of a heart attack in order to speak of heart disease, the tribute concert was staged in fond memory of the singer. It's like KK remains with those less-privileged needy families to support the heart surgery of so many children, the way his presence in many hearts will be remembered.

It was indeed a musical extravaganza as the city of joy celebrated the genius with some of his iconic songs. Eminent singers such as Usha Uthup (Pal), Saptak Bhattacharya (Alvida), Debojit Saha (Kaya Mujhe Pyaar Hai), Durnibar Saha (Dil Khudgarz Hai), Gaurav Sarkar (Asiyana Mera), Shovon Ganguly (Tu Hai Asman Mein), Niharika Nath( Dil Kyun Yeh Mera) and Joy Bhadra (Phirta Raha) enthralled the audience with their soulful singing. The funds raised from the concert will help the heart surgery of those needy children.

Earlier in June also, after KK’s death on May 31, hundreds of fans in Kolkata flocked to the Nandan premises to pay homage to the late singer with a tribute event that included 100 guitarists and 100 singers joining hands to sing KK’s hit song ‘Pal’.
