Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.42% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

MRF(up 1.2 per cent), Escorts Kubota(up 0.92 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.82 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.79 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 0.27 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.23 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.2 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.14 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.42 per cent at 12967.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 84.6 points at 17689.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 281.81 points at 59367.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of RBL Bank, BHEL, , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., , Sanofi India and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
