What could come from Twitter’s poor data practices?

The complaints from the former executive mean that Twitter is going to be under a lot of heavy scrutiny. What this is going to do is this is going to put Twitter in the spotlight and other social media platforms as well, to put them in a position to answer how are they protecting our data?
