Shares of Divis Laboratories(up 1.12 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 0.9 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.47 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.2 per cent) and Gland Pharma(up 0.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin(down 1.87 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.59 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 1.4 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.34 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(down 1.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.4 per cent down at 12593.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 82.5 points at 17522.45, while the BSE Sensex stood down 310.71 points at 58774.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 ended in the green, while 33 closed in the red.
Shares of , RBL Bank, BHEL, PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Total Transport Sys, SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., Rachana Infrastructure Ltd., and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
