Mysuru/Hassan: Police have taken up an investigation, after a homemaker lodged a complaint about an attempt by two armed youths, to rob her of her jewellery. Hassan additional superintendent of police M K Thammaiah, said that two youths in the guise of courier delivery boys, entered the house of a political leader in KR Puram layout on Monday. One of them was carrying a cover in his hand. After a woman noticed a firearm held by one of them, she raised an alarm, forcing the intruders to flee from the spot. The incident happened around 4 pm. Hassan extension police are carrying out the investigation.
Landlord sustains gunshot wound; probe launched
Venkatesh, a landlord, was seriously injured and hospitalised, after being shot in the shoulder on Monday. Following a tip-off by medical authorities from Bengaluru, Shantigram police in Hassan taluk have lodged a case against unknown persons, said additional SP M K Thammaiah. Venkatesh,55, of Ambiga village, was at his farm when he sustained the bullet injury. It is unclear as to who shot him any why? He suddenly collapsed.
His family shifted him to Nimhans in Bengaluru, where he was operated upon, and the bullet was removed. Hassan police were informed about the medico-legal case, and the jurisdiction police immediately launched a probe. Police are trying to ascertain whether it was an accident or the victim was a target of the shooting.
